Uhhhh, we don’t mean to alarm you, but the unofficial cult of Justin Bieber may soon be an actual church.
Earlier today, it was announced that Bieber was unexpectedly cancelling the rest of his ‘Purpose‘ world tour thanks to “unforeseen circumstances”, and inside sources apparently reckon it’s because he wants to start his own church.
Hillsong, what’s good.
The scoop comes via none other than Channel 9‘s Richard Wilkins, who dropped the bombshell on ‘Today Extra‘.
“I am led to believe that the real reason he’s come off the road is because he wants to reconnect with his faith and maybe even planning to start his own church,” he said.
“Whether he’s looking at teaming up with them [Hillsong] … or starting his own church, we’re not quite sure. That’s the word from an inside source.”
I would pay so much money to be in the brainstorming meeting while Bieber nuts out the details of his new church.
Of course, this could all be a ruse, and he could actually be moving to Australia permanently to attend Hillsong daily in-between shirtless walks around Bondi Beach.
And then there’s another explanation offered up by none other than John Mayer, who is a strange person to say the least but does have the perspective of being an actual, touring artist.
When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going. 1/2

We’ve lost so many great artists lately. I give Justin ???????? for realizing it was time to call it. You should too. 2/2

God I hope it’s the first one.
