Justin Bieber has abruptly cancelled the remaining dates on his Purpose World Tour, citing “unforeseen circumstances”.
A note posted to the singer’s website today announced that the tour – which has seen 149 shows since it kicked off in March last year – would be ending prematurely. No specific reason has been given as to why the remaining 14 shows are being cancelled.
The cancelled shows are in North America and Asia, with shows in the United States, Canada, Japan and Indonesia getting the axe.
The statement read:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honoured to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
Sorry to the Beliebers in Jakarta. Guess you’ll catch him next time around.
