Justin Bieber Wants To “Live Like Jesus”, Compares Religion To Taco Bell

In hindsight, it was only a matter of time before Justin Bieber‘s redemption tale involved a comparison to Jesus Christ.

Biebs has come a long way since his night club urination / DUI / drag racing / public vandalism days, starting with his ‘rebirth’ – a.k.a. getting it handed to him on Comedy Central Roast – in March this year, and coming full circle to express a desire to live as Our Lord and Saviour did.

Currently in Australia on a press tour, during which he shut down an entire Melbourne Block to perform five songs, Bieber’s interview with Complex has just come out.

And this is where he drops the J-Bomb:

“I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be Jesus – I could never – I don’t want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind.”

“If you believe it, he died for our sins. Sometimes when I don’t feel like doing something, but I know it’s right, I remember, I’m pretty sure Jesus didn’t feel like going to the cross and dying so that we don’t have to feel what we should have to feel.”

The entire interview is published via an absolutely stunning piece of digital work, which intersperses text with responsive images for the full rebirth ~ feel ~ [read it HERE]:

Justin, dark and chained.

Justin, rising.

Justin, free.

To be perfectly honest, this new, mature Justin Bieber is one we can get behind, or at least, is one we’re less inclined to make fun of. After all – the kid can S I N G, he’s pulled himself up by the bootstraps Jordans, and as a cherry-on-top of an interview ripe with quotes, he gives us this zinger:

“You don’t need to go to church to be a Christian.”

“If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn’t make you a taco.”
