Johnny Depp, smuggler of dogs and defiler of blockbusters, can also pull out a damn good performance when he chooses. Case in point: the second official trailer for Black Mass, in which he plays notorious gangster and convicted killer of 19 Whitey Bulger.
The first trailer sent a shiver down our spines when it arrived a few months back, and this one does the same, showing us even more of Depp’s sinister side, as he channels the hardened criminal and schools his young son in the ways of the world.
If we were being shady, we’d say that the scariest thing about the trailer might be Dakota Johnson‘s acting, but we’ve never said a shady thing in our lives, so move on, nothing to see, etc.

Alongside Depp and Johnson, the film stars Joel Edgerton, Bendydick Crumplebutt, Kevin Bacon, Peter Sarsgaard, Adam Scott and Juno Temple. It’s due for release on September 17 in Australia.
