Barnaby Joyce definitely has a definite track record with Hollywood, but his buckwild political career has not yet been immortalised in film. ABC’s Tonightly hoped to fill that gap with their own filmic vision.

Friends, it is… something.

Featuring the entirely apt Johnny Depp as the man himself, the sneaky legends over at Aunty found a way to cover heaps of ground: Joyce’s appointment to Cabinet, the carp deal, and yes, the saga of Pistol and Boo.

You can’t forget the parliamentary characters in Joyce’s orbit either, and Christopher Walken proves an inspired choice.
