Jessica Lange is back to (presumably) do more unspeakable things in the eighth instalment of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story, lovingly titled Apocalypse.

Cast your minds back to the earlier horrors and you’ll remember Lange appeared in season one to four as Constance Langdon, racking up two Emmy Awards for her performance.

News of Lange’s return was announced at the 2018 Television Critics Association, where in some more exciting news, unstoppable queen Sarah Paulson shared she will be directing the sixth episode of season eight, the same episode Lange will return in.

It’s currently unclear if this is a one-episode-only return.

Sweetie pie Evan Peters will also direct an episode but production has not decided which one yet, as per Variety

Last month it was revealed season eight of the series would be a crossover between Murder House (season one) and Coven (season three) which is just peachy and also means characters from both seasons shall appear.

Per Variety, Paulson revealed she’ll be playing multiple characters in the season. One being psychic Billie Dean Howard, another being Supreme witch Cordelia Foxx, and one more character by the name of Ms. Wilhemina Venable.

Back in June, Emma Roberts announced her return in the form of a lovely Instagram post. She’ll be playing Madison Montgomery as per usual.

Quality.

As for the rest of the cast we’ve got the wonderful Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, and Billie Lourd… so far.

In the words of executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall: “The story begins with the end of the world. It starts in the real world. It’s very tangible, and it’s a familiar panic.”

Apocalypse is due to hit FX on September 12.

Season nine and ten of the hit anthology series have already been ordered.
