Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez Have Called Off Their Engagement, So I Guess Love Is A Lie

Sometimes I think that a true love can never be, and Page Six has seemingly just confirmed this to be the case, with reports that Jennifer Lopez and New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez have called off their two-year engagement.

The couple, who became engaged in 2019 after dating for two years, had to postpone their wedding twice thanks to the pandemic, and more recently, there have been rumours linking Rodriguez to a young star of the series Southern Charm.

Life can be cruel in a way that I can’t explain, and while neither one has addressed rumours of the split, both have dropped hints on social media. On Friday, Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram to post a series of clips showing her happy and laughing.

“Find a good reason to laugh today … Sending everyone love,” she captioned the pic.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez posted a photo of himself alone on a yacht in Miami – an extremely large mood if ever there was one – and captioned it: “Don’t mind me, just taking a sail-fie … What are your plans for the weekend?”

Back in December, Jennifer Lopez opened up about their stalled wedding plans, saying: “We had to cancel the wedding … because of COVID, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know.”

Last month, there were rumours that Rodriguez had been jumping on FaceTime with Madison LeCroy of the Bravo show Southern Charm, but his reps quickly shut this speculation down, saying “he doesn’t know this woman.”

LeCroy herself said that the pair have “spoken on the phone” but have “never met up” and that they are just acquaintances.

Lopez is currently on location in the Caribbean, shooting the film Shotgun Wedding, which co-stars Josh Duhamel, after Armie Hammer exited the project.
