Jarrod Woodgate Slams Daily Mail For Mislabelling His Support Dog After A Darwin Cafe Incident

The Bachelor star Jarrod Woodgate has taken to Instagram to write that he’s “appalled by the misreporting and misquoting” on Daily Mail Australia.

The article is about an incident where Woodgate was allegedly asked to sit outside at a Darwin cafe due to complaints.

“Went to my favourite cafe in Darwin to get a takeaway coffee and went inside with Lily to pay,” Jarrod said in a previous Instagram Story that was reported on by Daily Mail Australia, as spotted by the So Dramatic! podcast.

“So we walked in and were met with a staff member who asked if I could sit outside with Lily as a customer complained about me taking Lily inside earlier,” he said.

Jarrod Woodgate says “half an hour later, I took Sam’s mum back to get a coffee and a cake and there were no tables outside.” [Editor’s note: Sam is Jarrod’s girlfriend].

“They chose to prioritise the other customer who doesn’t like dogs over the customer with a disability and a service dog,” he said.

Jarrod insisted that legally, he is allowed to take his dog inside the building with him. He said he felt “embarrassed, ashamed, and can’t stop shaking” after the incident and accused the cafe of being “backward” for not allowing him to visit with his sweet doggo.

In the new set of Instagram Stories, Jarrod Woodgate calls Daily Mail out for labelling his dog a “therapy dog” when, in fact, she “is a registered support dog for PTSD.”

He went on to share a bunch of negative comments from the Daily Mail article’s comment section, otherwise known as the scourge of the earth.

“You’ve just enabled hundreds of negative and hurtful comments on your false article that are extremely damaging to anyone suffering from PTSD or with a support dog,” Jarrod wrote.

Jarrod Woodgate has been very open about his battle with PTSD following his service in the army.
