Like the unbalanced housewife Mabel in A Woman Under The Influence, fast-food chains need to stop trying so hard to be everything to everyone and just be themselves.
In an effort to broaden its gustatory appeal, burger stalwart Hungry Jacks is ditching its 16-year-old slogan ‘the burgers are better’ and replacing it with the vaguer, less Whopper-centric line ‘Hungry Jack’s makes it better’.
The new direction is supposed to reflect new healthier menu items like the poorly-spelled fresh vegetable option Salad Stix. Hungry Jack’s are also introducing a new healthier burger option made from 100% certified organic beef called the Country Burgers (which, ironically, makes the now-defunct tagline more appropriate than ever).
