People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2008 has celebrated People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2019 by roasting People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2010, creating a big, sexy, and incredibly meta show-off circle.
Hugh Jackman, he of 2008 fame, took to Instagram overnight alongside frenemesis Ryan Reynolds, the 2010 winner, to praise 2019’s new dude, John Legend.

In a very silly clip, Jackman can be seen waving his 2008 magazine cover around Reynolds, before mugging for the camera like a guy who hasn’t yet won a Tony and a Golden Globe.
“Dear John. Massive congrats on joining this very very prestigious group,” Jackman said in the caption.
“99% of the time, People Magazine gets it right.”
(Worth noting: how pristine does that magazine cover look? Does Jackman have a pile of these sitting in a vault, just waiting for him to flaunt online?)
For what it’s worth, Legend told People that winning the award was a mixed blessing.
“I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it’s a lot of pressure,” Legend said, adding it was a bit unfair to be granted the title one year after Idris Elba‘s victory.
And if you’re wondering who will be the Jackman to Legend’s Reynolds, the answer is John’s wife, internet superstar Chrissy Teigen, who has already begun the onslaught.
