House, Grey’s Anatomy To Get ‘Glee Treatment’

Over the next two weeks, Australian viewers will get more than they bargained for on new episodes of medical dramas House and Grey’s Anatomy.

Both shows will be transformed into musical numbers as a reaction to the popularity of song-and-dance programs, particularly Glee, which like House, is owned by FOX and is one of the highest rating shows in the country. the Courier-Mail has revealed that House’s sequence was scripted by a Dancing With The Stars judge and features star Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein (who plays his love interest, Cuddy) performing a 1950s waltz to ‘Get Happy’, made famous by Judy Garland.

Meanwhile, Grey’s, which is on hiatus until next week, have been teasing audiences with clips of their stars singing in public places. Apparently every single cast member is going to be involved in the musical episode except lead hunk Patrick Dempsey, who will henceforth be renamed McSpoilSport. Or maybe he just didn’t want to sing something morbid by The Fray.

We doubt either of these show’s numbers will be as entertaining as a bunch of sexually frustrated private school boys singing Destiny’s Child, but we live in hope.
