Helen Mirren Running Barefoot Down A Runway At Paris Fashion Week Is My Monday Motivation

Helen Mirren

If there’s one thing you take away from Paris Fashion Week, please let it be Dame Helen Mirren joyfully running down the runway like a gazelle in a black and white Giambattista Valli gown.

Appearing in L’Oréal Paris’ third annual Le Défilé show, Mirren straight up sprinted down the catwalk barefoot. And the pictures/videos, they’re glorious.

Skip ahead to the 1.25 mark if you’re just here for the running.

One more:

Mirren appeared in the diverse show alongside fellow L’Oréal ambassadors Camila Cabello, Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes, and Geri Halliwell to name a few.

“If it was just me in a show, it would be, ‘Oh, what an amazing novelty that they have a really old woman walking!’ – and I wouldn’t feel so good about that,” she told Vogue about walking the runway. “But here we are, a whole, diverse group of sizes, shapes, genders, and races. We’re making a statement about inclusivity of the family of L’Oréal and I think that’s a great message and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

And just a few days ago, Mirren arrived at the London premiere of Catherine the Great in a goddamn palanquin carried by four men. She really did and she absolutely owned it.

Mirren stars as the titular character in the HBO miniseries, the monarch and politician who ruled the Russian empire and transformed its place in the world in the 18th century. The four-part drama will follow the end of Catherine’s reign and her affair with Russia military leader Grigory Potemkin that helped shape the future of Russian politics.

Catherine The Great premieres October 21 on HBO.

That was 10/10 saucier than I thought it’d be.
