So, now that we have those sincere and very true facts (yes, facts) out of the way, let’s catch you up on how old mate Helen is doing.
She’s great! She just won a huge award actually, at the IFP Gotham Independent Film Awards. She won a career tribute award for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in 2006’s ‘The Queen’.
During the acceptance speech, however, Mirren went rogue and started talking about her sex life with her partner, Taylor Hackford.
“I have to tell you a story about fucking the Queen!When The Queen was first screened at Venice, I’d never seen it before, and neither had my husband Taylor.In the first scene I am in full regalia, and I turn to the camera and there’s silence in the cinema. And my husband lets out this huge laugh.So I lean over to him and say, ‘Darling, do you think you’ll ever fuck me again?Between you and me, he has.”
W/E; the woman is a modern day hero, and we desperately hope and pray to be *that* badass when we’re seventy years old.
