Overnight, Trump shared the Game of Thrones meme to his account – an obvious play on “Winter Is Coming”.

Midterm elections are coming up on November 6 which is why you may have noticed your fave celebs encouraging their American fans to vote, vote, and vote on social media.
In response to the tweet, George R.R. Martin, man behind the franchise, shared the words: “Fear cuts deeper than swords / Vote / Tuesday the 6th” all in blue… which is probably a big nod to the democrats’ blue wave.
The president’s use of the show is an interesting choice considering the two’s history.
Back in 2017, Martin compared the president to Joffrey Baratheon – the hellishly cruel and immature former king.
“I think Joffrey is now the king in America,” Martin said in an interview with Esquire. “And he’s grown up just as petulant and irrational as he was when he was 13 in the books.”
Maisie Williams, who stars as the badass Arya Stark, simply tweeted: “Not today”.

While Williams’ on-screen sister Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, just replied to the tweet with “ew”.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, HBO said in response: “We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes.”
On the social media platform, the network even clapped back with a tweet of their own:
