Whoever’s Running The Gossip Girl Socials Is Savage As Fuck And IRL Influencers Are Involved

As the infamous Gossip Girl opener says, “Hey Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl here.” But while both the OG series and its forthcoming reboot are set on the Upper East Side over in New York, the spicy clutches of Gossip Girl now extend to all across the world through social media.

In the lead-up to the release of the HBO Max reboot, a GG account was launched on both Instagram and Twitter and they’ve left quite a savage mark already.

The folks behind the reboot made sure that gossip-lovers were aware of its presence by adding a bunch of influencers and media folk to its close friends list and luckily for us, they’ve been sharing the tea that’s being spilled.

For example, shortly before the release of the trailer, a writer by the name of Coleman Spilde shared a DM (or should that be ‘blast’, to use GG lingo?) he’d received from the page. After he made a joke about opting out, she sassed him right back because ya don’t mess with Gossip Girl, luv.

Aside from Coleman, the only other influencer who I know for sure is on the coveted Gossip Girl close friends list is social media king Harry Hill, but if you have a peek at the following list on the GG accounts, that’ll probs give you a good idea of who’s been invited.

Meanwhile someone else wrote that the DMs were “embarrassing”, and have a go at her savage comeback:

Elsewhere on social media, the Gossip Girl account has been doing as a GG account should do: trolling celebrities and keeping abreast of every spicy life update.

For example, when Vogue magazine congratulated Paris Hilton on her engagement to Carter Reum, GG wrote: “Heiress gf, venture capitalist bf. a tale as old as time.”

Legit, just go and have a scroll through the Gossip Girl Instagram and Twitter feeds and you’ll see a never-ending stream of spice, sass and shade that’ll have you hella pumped for the reboot.

I can’t help but read every single one in Kristen Bell’s GG voice, like this one:

The Gossip Girl cast includes: Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith.

The show is set to premiere July 8 on Binge.

Gossip Girl, if you’re reading this, plsssss add me to your close friends list! I reckon you can do with some Aussies on there for tea from Down Under.
