Gigi Hadid has announced her split from partner Zayn Malik, telling her fans and followers that “whatever’s meant to be will always be.”
Taking to Twitter, the 22-year-old model offered up a brief statement on her break-up with the muso.
Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years .. not only in the relationship but in life in general. I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. ❤ As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be. xG

That post came a couple of hours after the 25-year-old took to Instagram with a selfie, and the caption “When Life throws you lemons, catch em so they don’t hit you in the fucking face”.
Malik’s tattoo of Hadid’s eyes can be seen emblazoned on his chest.
