Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has taken to Instagram to give a heartfelt thankyou to the actual doctors, nurses and medical professionals who are going above and beyond in the midst of the current COVID-19 crisis.

The actress shared the video with her 7.2 million Instagram followers, in a post captioned “with love and gratitude”:

She said:

“This is my nurses and doctors and all the health-care workers appreciation post. Many of us have the privilege to self-quarantine and isolate and try to stay healthy, and none of you have that privilege. You all have to be on the front lines of this thing and what is certainly bad now but will most definitely get worse in the next couple of weeks. So this is just from me and my family to all of you to say thank you. We appreciate you, we love you. Stay safe. Nurses rock, doctors rock, and anyone who works in a hospital or the health-care industry, you rock.”

Ellen Pompeo has starred on the soapy medical drama Grey’s Anatomy for a phenomenal 16 seasons. Production on the show was recently paused for two weeks, as a precaution over the coronavirus outbreak, to protect the cast and crew.

Grey’s Anatomy is currently streaming on Stan.

If you’re looking for a comforting binge watch to get you through the next couple of weeks, you could do a lot worse than spend them with the team at Seattle Grace, as they navigate heartbreak, loss, plane crashes, bomb scares and other increasingly wild disasters.
