Empire’s ‘Avengers’ Covers Feature 23 Actors And 1 Godawful Photoshop Fail

Now that Black Panther has had a dream box office run ($1 billion and counting), all eyes are on Marvel‘s next outing, the massive Avengers: Infinity War. The film boasts a cast of approximately 16,000 actors, with 80% of them named Chris, and will see characters from several Marvel franchises coming together for the first time.

UK magazine Empire is celebrating the upcoming release with 6 collector covers featuring some of the characters crammed in together, and honestly it would have been a game of Photoshop Tetris for the overworked designer trying to fit them all together. And where there’s Photoshop, there’s often a Photoshop Fail. Which probably explains Elizabeth Olsen‘s severely munted face.

I’m…not sure what happened here. Dave Bautista, Benedict Cumberbatch and Danai Gurira all look very much how they always do. And then old mate Lizzie looks like someone else entirely.

I’m serious, WHO is this?

It’s like they’ve taken her face and stretched it too much and then attempted to put it back, thus changing the shape of her face entirely and leaving her with next to no chin, the poor thing.

Even Elizabeth herself was perplexed, ‘gramming the cover and plugging the film, but adding a caption questioning her odd appearance.

No, Liz, it looks like a quite good fan-made painting of you. Or someone in pretty convincing cosplay.

Empire posted all 6 covers on their account, and fans made their feels on the Photoshop fail abundantly clear.

One commenter pointed out: “it looks like putting Pepper’s [Gwyneth Paltrow] face into Scarlet Witch’s body”, while another quipped: “Yo that isn’t Scarlett Witch lmao wtf”. My personal fave is this Extremely Good Point: “It looks nothing like her, and in fact looks barely human. Why do it?! She’s lovely as she is, and deserves her actual face on the cover.”

Hear, hear.
