Drake Sends His Love To 11 Y.O. Fan After Her Successful Heart Transplant

Your most sensitive boi, Drake, shouted out an 11-year-old fan who had just received a heart transplant, at his show at Madison Square Garden in New York last night.

Before launching into ‘God’s Plan‘, as reported by Complex, Drake started talking about Sofia Sanchez: “God the other day blessed her with a new heart. So, Sofia, if they get this clip out to you, I love you and I’m happy for you.

Just last week the rapper went to visit Sanchez at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where, so says Drake’s Insta, they talked about Justin Bieber, football team the Chicago Owls (or just regular owls??) and basketball.

He also gave her a Scorpion hat, which while too big remains cute as heck on that cute as heck kid.

She is PURE.

In mid-August the hospital posted a video to YouTube of Sanchez doing the ‘In My Feelings‘ challenge, writing:

Sofia Sanchez, from Downers Grove, will be 11 on August 18 and has been waiting for a new heart at Lurie Children’s for the past several weeks. She has two wishes for her birthday, to get her new heart and to meet her idol, Drake, who is performing Friday and Saturday at the United Center.

In hopes of meeting him, she and her cousin performed the KiKi Dance down the hospital hallway tethered to her IV pump and taped a video message from her hospital bed asking him to visit her at Lurie Children’s.

If you are old like me and not aware of the challenge – from which Drake pulls some of the footage in his video clip for the song released this month – it’s where people copy exactly Shiggy‘s dance to ‘In My Feelings’, the OG video from late June featuring the internet comedian dancing to the jam in pink trackies on the street.

The Chicago Tribune reported yesterday that Sanchez survived the nine-hour surgery, and is currently recovering in hospital.

Sending all our good will to that precious angel.
