UPDATE 3/5/21: Shelly Auguste tells PEDESTRIAN.TV that her restraining order was not “thrown out” and claims that: “Diplo does NOT have a restraining order against me. I filed one against him initially and his lawyers asked that we settle it in private. We now have a mutual private order / agreement between the two of us.”

Los Angeles musician Diplo has filed a lawsuit against a former girlfriend, saying she’s subjecting him and his family to prologued harassment and revenge porn.

TMZ has obtained the legal documents that the DJ filed against Shelly Auguste, in which he claims she is a “relentless and unstable fan who manipulated herself into” his life and then became hostile when their brief relationship ended. He’s reportedly suing Auguste for stalking, trespassing, and “distribution of private materials”, aka revenge porn.

The two allegedly had a short consensual relationship in 2019, but split in 2020. That’s when, according to the documents, Auguste sent Diplo a barrage of 44 messages including video and voice recordings of him. Diplo alleges the behaviour has continued since then.

The DJ claims that Auguste’s harassment extends to creating fake social media accounts to hassle him, and sending sexually explicit messages, photographs and videos of Diplo to his friends and family members. She’s also allegedly engaged in some old-fashioned IRL stalking behaviour, like showing up to his house unannounced. In fact, he claims that Auguste’s behaviour was so threatening that he had to sell that house and move in order to avoid her.

He also alleges that Auguste sent his new girlfriend racist messages earlier in April this year, which I’m not going to quote, because they’re horrible.

You may remember that Diplo had a temporary restraining order taken out against him over allegedly distributing revenge porn of his own in November 2020 – that was sought by Auguste. However, according to TMZ, at that time she was already under a restraining order that had been put in place by Diplo’s legal team. Auguste’s attempted legal action against Diplo was eventually thrown out.

In October last year, Diplo was also forced to strenuously deny grooming allegations after TikTok star Quenlin Blackwell posted a video series titled “living with Diplo”.

Now the 42-year-old DJ’s lawyer has told TMZ that Diplo “and his family have been harassed, stalked and abused by Ms. Auguste for far too long — and it’s time for the courts to step in and put an end to her appalling and dangerous behaviour.”
