Today, as Delta Goodrem performed for the Together At Home concert in front of a shelf creaking under the weight of her ARIA awards, the rest of the world finally, belatedly realised who the hell Delta Goodrem is, and they like what they saw.
Of course, Delta has been on the absolute tip top of the Aussie celebrity pile for nearly two decades, from her humble beginnings on Neighbours to the iconic Innocent Eyes era to her tenure as a judge on The Voice.
She was one of only two Aussies on the line-up for the the event, the other being Keith Urban, and in the early hours of this morning, she performed ‘Together We Are One‘ from her Sydney home. Social media then proceed to go absolutely batshit for her.

“I don’t know who Delta Goodrem is but OH MY GOD THAT VOICE,” said one new fan on Twitter. Another wrote that “today is the day” they become a Delta Stan, adding “I can’t believe I’ve gone my whole life” without being aware of her existence.
At least one existing fan jumped aboard, likening her to “a Victoria’s Secret model with the voice of Celine Dion, the songwriting skills of Taylor Swift and the heart of Princess Diana” which is … a lot, but sure, we’ll allow it.
