If you’re the type of person who prefers just endlessly watching Friends to checking out any new or different shows (a wise call, honestly), then you’ll probably be delighted by this photo that Courteney Cox recently unearthed, showing the cast before they were famous.
“The one where the six of us went to Vegas and no one knew we were F.R.I.E.N.D.S yet,” she wrote in the caption to an Instagram photo, which shows the six cast members hanging out on a private plane before the first episode of the show went to air.
Back then, Courteney Cox had done some TV work and appeared in the video for ‘Dancing In The Dark‘ by Bruce Springsteen, while her fellow cast-members Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer were similarly low-profile.
The Vegas trip was reportedly the idea of director James Burrows, who wanted the cast-mates to bond before they began playing friends on TV. “Look at that!” Kudrow commented on the photo. “Thanks again Jimmy Burrows. Love you Courteney.”
When asked about what souvenirs he took from the show when it ended, Matt LeBlanc told Jimmy Fallon that he took a “fuckload of cash.” That sounds about right, and the show remains so popular that Netflix in the US recently paid $100 million to keep it for another year.
