Yes, yes we all know it by now, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are motherfucking couple goals. They prove it time and time again, and not because they’re always sickeningly loved up or anything — quite the opposite, actually.
For me, the goals part is how often Chrissy trolls John publicly. It’s all in good fun, of course (they quite clearly are sickeningly loved up), but it’s just bloody funny and I love it.
While usually Chrissy uses social media to take affectionate stabs at her husband, today she took it to the telly, onstage at the 2018 Emmy Awards.
When the pair sashayed out — looking like solid 10s as always — to present the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie (which ultimately went to Godless star Merritt Wever), John said “what an exciting week it’s been”.
This prompted Chrissy to roll her eyes and groan: “oh my god we get it, you won the EGOT”. When the crowd applauded John’s quite frankly impressive achievement, his wife cut them off, saying “don’t encourage this behaviour”.
Poor Chrissy got served right back, with John jibing “I was talking about our anniversary”.
Ah well Chrissy, ya tried.
