It’s been 10 years since John Legend released ‘Green Light’ featuring André 3000 so to celebrate, online magazine MEFeater decided to do a sweet throwback post with some stills from the music video.
Sounds innocent enough

Twitter fave and wife to Legend, Chrissy Teigen, saw the post and retweeted it with a caption that incited some passionate curiosity from her legion of fans… and so the story begins. As Teigen so simply wrote: “Fun fact, I had a jealously-fuelled meltdown visiting this video set and made an asshole out of myself to a large group of people.”
With fans eager to find out what happened, Teigen consulted her husband to refresh her rusty memory.
It begins:
In 2008, Teigen had gone along to the filming of the ‘Green Light’ musical video. Friends, including Legend’s manager and co-writers, were present for production and were just casually talking about all the beautiful women on set.
…and they were! But in my mind they not only were talking about it, they were talking about it on purpose to rile me up. Looking back and knowing how well I know them now, THEY WERE DEFINITELY RILING ME UP AND GETTING A KICK OUT OF IT

Meanwhile, Teigen was watching the monitor when one of her friends decides to say, “Ooooooo look at that girl with John ooooooooo!” Of course, Teigen looks intensely at the monitor like a “psychotic (tarantula) hawk”. The then 22-year-old was thinking, “oh, John was in trouble.”
Teigen and Legend had actually met while filming a music video so a thousand scenarios are running through her mind at this point. Again, “I know how this shit works.”
THEN:
“He probably laughed at something she said. And in my mind it was some GRAND conversation I was conjuring up. They were probably just talking about craft services honestly but in my mind she was like ‘hey we should bone’ and he was like ‘haha fuck yeah!’”
AND THEN:
A few more shoulder touches and laughs with her later, I lost it. Anger turned to sobbing turned to fleeing the set and getting a hotel room. The director (ALAN FERGUSON!) was baffled. Everyone was.

But here’s the most relatable bit for a youngin to be reading, “I wish more happened but no. I was just a jealous, angry 22-year-old. I’m better now. BUT DON’T TEST ME.”

I mean, we’ve all been there in some shape or form.
10 years on Teigen and Legend have been married for five years and share two beautiful kiddies, two-year-old Luna and two-month-old Miles.
Teigen, possibly still living her best life vacationing in Bali, recently sparked her twitter following into a flurry after playing with what was believed to be tarantula hawk wasp. A “nice bug” with a sting so damaging it is said to feel like you dropped a hairdryer into your running bath. Although, the insect has since been revealed to be an inferior species.
Nevertheless, it was a quality laugh.
