Just Try Not To Cry Reading Anna Faris’ Note To Chris Pratt In Her New Book

Everyones favourite IRL comedy couple was absolutely Anna Faris and Chris Pratt up until a month ago – well, besides Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, who blessed us with this scene in Bridesmaids:

Anna and Chris were a) adorable and b) insanely talented in their own rights, so when they announced their separation after five years of marriage, we honestly felt so shitty we almost asked for the afternoon off work to be sad and eat ice-cream out of the tub. The pair have kept things amicable and seem not to hate each other with the fire of a thousand suns, judging by their official statement.

Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep the situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together.

Anna’s new book just dropped in the States, and in an interesting move Anna has a lengthy thank you in the acknowledgements section for her ex.

Get ready to feel some strong emotions mates. This has pretty much broken me.

And Chris. Chris, who when I pitched him the idea of writing a book, didn’t skip a beat. I love our late nights conjuring up projects and characters and talking about the rabbits. Chris, thank you for an impossible amount of support and love,” the House Bunny actress, 40, wrote to her ex. “Thank you for the flowers. Thank you for finding my credit card at the Kmart in Phoenix. Thank you for the deer jerky. Thank you for laughing at my dumb jokes. Thank you for cutting Jack’s hair. But that might have to stop. Thank you for being just about the best person I know. I love you. I wish we had more words for love.”

AAAAAHHHH why are you not TOGETHERRRRRR you adorable fools.

It gets worse. Chris actually wrote the foreword for Anna’s book, and addresses the split – kind of.

When I was asked to write the forward [sic] for Unqualified, Anna’s memoir, I immediately said yes without even thinking about it. And boy did a lot happen between then and now.

So much.

Like … soooo much.

He goes on to wax lyrical about how intelligent and well-read Anna is, how friendly and delightful a human being she is… it’s all very sad tbh.

She is the amazing, effervescent, former short girl, theater nerd, camp counselor, crossing guard, headgear-wearing, feistmesiter, character-playing Anna Kay Faris.

Anna addresses the rumours surrounding Chris and his Passengers co-star Jennifer Lawrence allegedly hooking up, too.

“Before [Pratt and Lawrence] met in person, my publicist, out of the blue, pulled me aside,” she explains. “‘There are going to be shots of them laughing together on their way to set. There are going to be stories circulating, and you have to brace yourself for this.’”

Yeah, so we didn’t get confirmation that they did/didn’t bone – but Anna does say the rumours “totally hurt”, and that while she tried to ignore them she “couldn’t block them out, either.” Hmmm…

Still, Anna dedicates the book to Chris (sob).

“Your wisdom and strength have made me a better person.”

Oh god, it’s too much. If you need me I’ll be reading weird Anna/Chris fanfic and watching depressing love dedication YouTube videos.
