Her royal highness of SKII-assisted flawlessness, Cate Blanchett, is reportedly in talks to star in Disney’s pending big screen update of Cinderella playing the role of Cindy’s Evil Stepmother.
Cate, who is currently in New Zealand for the world premiere of The Hobbit in which she reprises her role as ethereal Elf queen Galadriel, is the first choice for producers of the movie currently known simply as Untitled Cinderella Story. Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) is directing the film, originally penned by The Devil Wears Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna.
It’s difficult to imagine Cate Blanchett being anything other than amazing in that role, mainly because she is only ever amazing in everything she does. The question is, who will play the title role and Disney’s original pants man and shoe fetishist Prince Charming?
I do hope they keep in the talking singing mice from the original adaptation, because this scene is the tits.
