Filming Suspended After Blake Lively Injured On ‘The Rhythm Section’ Set

Production on the female-fronted spy thriller The Rhythm Section has temporarily halted after Blake Lively sustained an unspecified injury to her hand.

According to a statement from the studio to Deadline, production will resume as soon as possible:

Paramount, Global Road (formerly known as IM Global) and producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today confirmed that filming has been temporarily suspended on The Rhythm Section as Blake Lively sustained an injury to her hand whilst filming an action sequence. Production will resume as soon as possible.

The film is being helmed by the The Handmaid’s Tale executive producer and director Reed Morano, and is based on Mark Burnell’s Stephanie Patrick novels. Lively plays a woman on “a path of self-destruction” after her family dies in a plane crash. One thing leads to another, and she ends up as an assassin. We’ve all been there!

But there you go. If you were stinging to see Blake Lively as an assassin, you’re gonna have to wait marginally longer.
