Aside from everyone losing their god-given minds at any possibly moment, the runaway funniest thing about The Bachelor is the pensive, silent poses producers make the Bachelor stand in while the show transitions from one segment to the next. You know the ones: Bachie gazes longingly out the window while holding coffee. Bachie leans on balcony rail while surveying a vast field. Bachie rests against car bonnet while contemplating every mistake he’s ever made. Absolute classics, every one of them. But last night’s episode may have set a new high-water mark for the franchise, and it was so ridiculous that even Matt himself has taken the white hot piss out of it.

Prior to last night’s single date with precious flower Elly whomst Matt must NEVER HURT, producers threw Matt into what’s surely now a Hall of Fame-worthy transition shot: “Leaning on a farm fence while staring at alpacas.”
Magnificent stuff. Until my future wife arrives in a rented black 4WD I shall stand here and contemplate livestock. Utterly ridiculous.
Fortunately enough, Matt has a pretty good sense of humour about all this and took to Instagram to not only take the ever-loving piss out of himself and that ridiculous shot, but to do so via the majesty of a classic gag from The Simpsons.
Just watching the alpacas. Alpacas don’t look like alpacas on film. You gotta use llamas. If you want something that looks like a llama, you just tape a bunch of dogs together.
Beautiful. Absolute chef kiss perfection on that one.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to observe some alpacas/llamas/taped dogs.
