Andy Cohen has survived enough Real Housewives reunions that he knows how to deal with weave-pulling, table-flipping bursts of rage, but he has made a powerful new enemy in comedian Kathy Griffin, after straight-up denying any knowledge of her existence.
Griffin has been persona non grata since she posed for a photo with a bloodied Donald Trump head earlier this year, with the backlash to that scandal costing her various gigs, including her spot co-hosting New Year’s Eve celebrations on US network CNN.
Andy Cohen is taking over that gig alongside fellow silver fox Anderson Cooper, and it appears that there is no love lost between him and Griffin. When he was ambushed by a pap at the airport recently and asked about his new hosting duties, he drew a blank when asked about her.

It’s clear that he is joking around with TMZ’s reporter, but his refusal to even utter his old friend’s name seems somewhat pointed. Moreover, Griffin, who used to work under Andy Cohen at Bravo and has known him for years, is seriously pissed about the incident.
“Even when it’s on tape, there are doubters?” she said on twitter. “He is NOT kidding with paps. Was my boss for 10 years. Treated me like a dog. Deeply misogynistic.”

Kathy Griffin had also been close friends with Anderson Cooper, but their friendship apparently ended when the news anchor publicly repudiated her Donald Trump photo shoot.
“For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate,” he said at the time.
Though Cooper reached out to her later in a series of text messages, she told him that their friendship was over, and later referred to him as a “spineless heiress” in the press.
Long story short, Kathy Griffin’s Twitter will probably be a very shady place come New Year’s Eve when Andy Cohen takes her old slot, and we kind of can’t wait to see how it plays out.
