Either this is big news to you or it isn’t: Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are taking a break.
Are you shocked? Saddened? Surprised to learn that these two were even a couple, tbh? No judgement here.
The couple – who’ve been dating since “hitting it off” at a Golden Globes afterparty in January last year – have announced they cooling it, romance-wise, just one day after being snapped cozying up at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. (Ah, to be famous and hot.)
In a joint statement provided to Us Weekly, their people said:
“Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”
It was widely reported last November that the couple had split, because – as In Touch Weekly claimed – Bloom “wasn’t ready to get married and have babies.” (We assume more babies, because Flynn Kerr Bloom is a human that still very much exists.)
And a source at yesterday’s VF party told PEOPLE that despite the pics, the pair didn’t actually hang out at the glitzy bash.
“Katy didn’t spend much time with Orlando,” said the source. “They got together for a photo, but that was about it.”
But Bloom did post this photo of himself with Perry’s pup to Instagram yesterday, so it appears relations aren’t *totally* on the fritz.
