Deliveroo & Macca’s Are Offering Free Delivery To Make The Vic Lockdown Slightly More Bearable

From midnight Friday, Victorians can get free delivery from Deliveroo and Macca’s until the end of the snap 5-day lockdown.

In order to control the highly contagious UK strain of COVID-19, Victorians will go into a Stage 4 restrictions from 11.59pm on Friday night (Feb 12) until 11:59pm on Wednesday (Feb 17).

As always there will only be four reasons to leave home: shopping, exercise, caregiving and essential work.

This of course means, there’s nothing fun to do aside from eating. Which is why it’s good news that we can get free delivery. So catch me ordering wine and treats to my door every night of this lockdown.

Deliveroo is offering free delivery from over 7,800 restaurants across Victoria, so we can stay home and restaurants can continue trading over Valentine’s weekend.

Any other singles quietly happy that no one can properly celebrate Valentine’s Day now? I would have spent the day eating takeaway anyway. At least now I don’t have to feel bad about it.

“Deliveroo is focused on supporting efforts to contain the spread of the virus. Throughout the last year, Deliveroo has stood side by side with our restaurant partners and supported them through these difficult times. With Melbourne now back in Stage 4 lockdown we are offering free delivery from over seven thousand restaurants to help locals and small businesses through these challenging times,” Ed McManus from Deliveroo said.

Macca’s will also be doing free delivery through DoorDash, Deliveroo and MenuLog. Which is fab news for me, because I’m over paying the $8 delivery fee just to get some nugs.

Uber Eats won’t have free delivery but will be offering more $0 delivery fees on some selected stores, as well as offering $0 delivery on grocery orders over $20.

We’ve beaten this before Victoria, just sit tight and eat your body weight in food.
