Victim Of Botched Breast Filler Procedure At Syd Beauty Clinic Dies In Hospital

Jean Huang, the owner of inner city Sydney beauty clinic The Medi Beauty, has died in hospital this afternoon after a botched breast filler procedure on Wednesday. She was 35.

Police are alleging that a Chinese tourist called Jie Shao is responsible for Huang’s death, after she administered the wrong dose of anaesthetic before carrying out the injectable procedure. Huang went into cardiac arrest and was found unconscious and not breathing by paramedics.

Shao faced court yesterday on charges of recklessly causing harm by administering a poisonous substance.

Shao has a degree from Guangdong Medical University specialising in dermatology, but is not qualified to practice in Australia. Yesterday the court heard that she had been in Australia on a tourist visa for less than a week, and was due to return to China on Thursday.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
