Lucky Bastard Scooped $50M In Last Night’s Lottery On His 1st Ever Ticket

An insanely lucky bloke from Western Sydney managed to become the the sole division one winner of last night’s Powerball lottery, scooping up the entire $50 million prize pool on the first Powerball ticket he ever bloody bought.

The man, in his 30s and wishing to remain anonymous, is unemployed, and told the Sydney Morning Herald he didn’t really contemplate the possibility of winning. Especially not, you know, on his first ticket ever.

“No. No. No. Don’t tell me that. Are you serious man? I’ll probably faint,” the man said to the caller from NSW Lotteries, who rang him shortly after the draw last night. “I don’t know what to do. What should I do now? Should I call my mum? Should I hug my wife? What do I do?”

Of course, the correct answer is this: go out immediately and buy two speedboats.
He says that he was literally just in the midst of talking to his wife about what their struggling family would do in the future when the call came through. “We were just sitting discussing what to do with our lives next – what to do with our future. It’s just a blessing I would say,” he said.
Turns out he has decidedly more noble, non-speedboat related aspirations for the money, saying he wants to open a restaurant that will help people in their times of need.
I want to open a restaurant – that’s my passion – and give 50 per cent of the food away for free to people who need it. I don’t need profits, but there are homeless, students who are struggling, and people in need.
