You might have been as shocked / disgusted as we were over the weekend, after hearing reports a man spat on a BABY in Sydney’s Surry Hills in a completely random assault.
The four-month-old was being walked down Crown Street by relatives when the man, who has no ties to the family, leaned inside the pram and spat on the poor little thing’s face before doing a runner.
The baby’s granddad chased the man to Foveaux Street, where he collided with a car before running south on Crown Street and managing to escape.
But the law / karma has caught up with him, after police tracked down the 37-year-old and arrested him at his Redfern home yesterday arvo.
He was taken to Redfern police station and charged with common assault for the disgusting attack, as well as an additional charge of common assault over a totally separate domestic violence matter.
He’s been refused bail and will front Central Local Court later today.
