A Sydney Boat Party Company Asked Its IG Followers To Get Jabbed And Anti-Vaxxers Were Mad

A Sydney boat party company asked its Instagram followers to get vaccinated, and so many anti-vaxxers in the comments were triggered.

The Yacht Social Club, like most businesses, need their customers to be vaxxed in order to reopen. This is because NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has promised certain freedoms to fully vaccinated residents when the state hits their 70% / 80% vaccination targets.

“Whilst we remain optimistic that our season will be able to kick off on Saturday 6th November, we understand this is wholly reliant on NSW achieving 70% and 80% vaccination rates,” they wrote on Instagram.

“We are also anticipating that NSW government will only be allowing fully vaccinated staff and patrons to participate in our events, therefore we would like this opportunity to encourage all of our customers to go out and get vaccinated against COVID-19 ASAP.”

Sounds reasonable that they’d ask their loyal customers to be vaccinated, right? WRONG, well wrong according to some people on Instagram who seem to forget that businesses aren’t actually above the law.

Many of the commenters are pressed that they will need to fully vaccinated to attend future Yacht Social Club events, which will likely be the case across many other events in Sydney as well.

That won’t be too far away either, as according to recent data from Covid.live.com, NSW is on track to hit 70% of the 16+ population fully vaccinated by October 20 and 80% by November 4.

All adult Aussies (yep, even if those of us under 40) are currently able to get the safe and effective AstraZeneca vaccine through a GP. Click here to see which clinics are offering it, and talk to a doctor to see if it’s right for you.

Alternatively, you can triple-check to see if you’re eligible for the Pfizer vaccine here.

The best vaccine is the first one you can get, and that’ll be our ticket out of this mess.
