Kendall Jenner Is In A Messy Tiff With A Luxe Italian Label After It Sued Her For $1.8M

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner is in quite the messy tiff with luxe Italian fashion house Liu Jo, after it sued the model for a whopping USD $1.8 million dollars. Apparently, Jenner breached her modelling contract with the label. But if you ask her team, there’s much more to the story. Let us begin.

Liu Jo filed a complaint at a New York City court on Monday, August 2, alleging Jenner breached her contract with the company after she failed to appear in the second of two planned photoshoots.

In the lawsuit, which has been seen by E! News, Liu Jo claims it paid Jenner USD $1.35 million after she completed the first photo shoot in July 2019. The second shoot was scheduled to take place in London in March 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic obviously put an end to that one.

Can we just take a moment to let $1.35 million for a photoshoot sink in. My god.

Anywho, Liu Jo claims both parties agreed to hit pause on the shoot and delay it until mid-October of 2020, but never confirmed a new date.

Kendall and her team allegedly “continued to fail to respond to urgent requests and communications relating to the logistics” of the suggested October shoot, so the label then “considered her in breach of the contract and that, therefore, the contract was terminated.”

Liu Jo also alleges that it filed the complaint after “having no success in obtaining a refund” from Jenner.

At the very least, the fashion house wants a refund for the first and second shoots, as well as at least USD $1.8 million in damages.

“Due to Ms. Jenner’s refusal to negotiate in good faith, Liu Jo was forced to find replacement models and restructure its entire Spring/Summer 2021 photoshoot [sic]—at great expense to Liu Jo,” the lawsuit reads, and shaded Jenner’s “refusal to uphold her end of the bargain.”

Jenner’s team has responded as you would expect, really.

A spokesperson for The Society Management, which represents Jenner, said the lawsuit is “without merit”.

“The Society Management, on behalf of Ms. Kendall Jenner, has continually offered Liu Jo alternative dates and locations to fulfil an agreement that was forced to be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic,” the spokesperson said.

According to a TMZ source, grain of salt, Jenner tried to have the photoshoot moved to the US, but it didn’t work out.

How this one ends remains to be seen, but I don’t think Liu Jo will be backing down any time soon.

Just do it over Zoom, I say.
