Hear From The Bog Roll King Behind Who Gives A Crap & More At Our Free 3-Night Cocktail Event

Contributor: David Allegretti

In light of Sydney’s current lockdown, this event series has been postponed. We’ll update this article once new dates have been announced, and when we can host these for you safely.

Hey pal, ever feel like you’re just that one shot away from your big break? Have you seen The Wolf of Wall Street more times than you’ve seen your own mum? Do you listen to the Think and Grow Rich audiobook on repeat as you cut out pics of Lamborghinis and yachts to paste on your vision board? You get the point — basically, are you a hustler? Well my ambitious friend, do I have some the event for you.

We here at Pedestrian Group have teamed up with Wild Turkey Longbranch to host three absolutely ripper nights chock full of business and entrepreneurship advice, straight from the mouths of business moguls who’ve been there, done that, and have the fat checks to prove it. I’m talking real Wall Street stuff you won’t see in a cinema.

Over the course of the three bespoke events, expect to soak up that sweet business know-how juice as industry leaders take the stage for Q&A sessions hosted by Business Insider Deputy Editor James Hennessy. Oh and the best part? You’ll get to enjoy three different signature Wild Turkey Longbranch cocktails and a bunch of mouthwatering canapes as you’re guided through each stage of the creative process, covering every mode and mood of business collaboration. Oh, and did I mention it’s all absolutely free? Lovely stuff.

So if you’re sick of wondering what if, and are ready to get off your sweet butt and act on your entrepreneurial dream, you’ve come to the right place.

CREATIVITY & COLLABORATION – TBC

Wild Turkey Longbranch themselves are no strangers to the importance of collaboration, with Wild Turkey Longbranch Bourbon being born via a creative collaboration between Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell and Creative Director Matthew McConaughey, together creating a signature whiskey steeped in mesquite, a quintessential Texan wood, an homage to McConaughey’s Texan routes.

See, creativity and collaboration go hand in hand, and you’re going to need both if you wanna make it, kid. What worth is your killer idea if you have no clue who to call to get it off the ground? What’s the point of having a black book full of cool contacts if you’ve got no meat for the sandwich, capisce?

This talk will feature both sides of the ideation process, from the mavericks who dream up the next big thing, to the investors who make that dream a reality. That’s where Harry Hunter and Erin Moy, co-founders of Entropico come in. These cool cats are creative powerhouses covering integrated creative production, film, photography, design, animation, audio, and installation.

Next up are Bryce Leske and Alec Renehan — co-founders of Equity Mates, Australia’s largest finance and investing podcast network and community. Their mission is “to break down the barriers everyday investors face, from beginning to dividend,” (lol get it). So when it comes to making your big idea a reality, Bryce and Alec have you covered.

THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS – TBC

during this event, you’ll get to meet some of Australia’s rising entrepreneurs in an all-star thought-provoking line-up exploring the next steps in markets, tech, start-ups, and more.

Learn how to make money without compromising your morals from Simon Griffiths, founder of Who Gives a Crap — a profit-for-purpose toilet paper company that donates 50% of its profits to help build toilets in the developing world. I think that’s pretty neat.

Next, we have Elisa Choy, economist and data strategist at Maven Data, the world’s first AI-powered strategic market research company. She’s an absolute powerhouse of prediction, using data to gain insights into just about everything, from who Australia might favour in the next election to when our borders will reopen and more.

She’ll share these predictions during her talk, along with how Maven is taking market research into the 21st century with big data and AI.

SCALABILITY & GROWING PAINS – TBC

As we come out of this absolute crapshow of a pandemic, young entrepreneurs are facing a unique challenge: scalability. To ensure growth during this unprecedented time (sorry), it’s integral to have the right infrastructure in place and create a strong D2C (direct to customer) platform.

Chris and Cam Grant, co-founders of Unyoked, are very well versed in this area. From creating a dreamy cabin in the woods with Wild Turkey and Matthew McConaughey called The Reserve, to releasing an EP of nature-inspired beats with some top Aussie musicians, Unyoked’s unique approach is turning the travel industry on its head.

Meanwhile Sascha Kerbert, Head of Accelerator & Sophia Witherington, Head of Fellowship at Startmate are shaking up the mentorship world with their D2C mentorship approach. They provide internet and software businesses in Aus and NZ with direct access to a solid group of start-up executives, ready and willing to share their sweet knowledge with their clients.

There you have it folks, three exclusive events full of cocktails, insights from some of Australia’s leading entrepreneurs, and all the wisdom you can fit in your beautiful entrepreneurial brain. All you have to do is go for it.

So, what are you waiting for? Some people dream of success, while you’re going to wake up and work hard at it. Nothing is impossible. Just do it. Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Yesterday you said tomorrow, so just do it.

Make your dreams come true.
