Apple’s Recalling A MacBook Pro Model Because The Batteries Are A Fire Risk

The MacBook Pro. A wonderful laptop right up until the point the battery overheats and sets fire to your bedroom. Apple has announced a recall of some 2015 models of the Pro because of a battery problem which could cause a fire risk.

The recall specifically affects a limited number of 15-inch MacBook Pro units sold between September 2015 and February 2017. There’s no indication as to what proportion of those laptops are affected, but it certainly could be yours.

You can head on over to the Apple Support website and punch your serial number in to find out. If it is, Apple will replace your battery free of charge. The bad news is that your device will need to be sent to an Apple Repair Centre for service, which could take 1-2 weeks.

But that’s better than it torching your house, I assume.
