Apple Has A Weird Solution If Yr MacBook Pro Keeps Dying & No, It’s Not Putting It In Rice

If you’ve got the latest MacBook Pro, you might’ve encountered the device randomly shutting down “even though the battery shows a remaining charge.” Annoying, I know.

But at least you’re not alone, with countless complaints on MacRumours (aka the Apple help-version of Reddit) of the same or similar issues.

Thankfully, the tech-giant has finally acknowledged the issue and they’ve got a solution for you that’s a little more helpful than turning it off and back on again or throwing it in rice. So, don’t go rushing to buy a cheapo replacement on Facebook Marketplace just yet.

According to Mashable, the issue in question is present on the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro model from 2019 with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, but it is unclear whether other models face the same problem.

Basically, when using the device for normal stuff like browsing the internet or watching a YouTube video, it will just shut down when the battery depletes below 20-30%.

Considering the hefty price tag attached to a brand spankin’ new MacBook, you’d expect at least a couple of years of fully-functioning use before encountering any sort of weird battery issues.

But finally, after nine long pages of complaints on MacRumours dating back to October 2019, the tech giant has finally offered a solution.

Apple suggests connecting your device to power and disconnecting from any apps when the battery falls below 90%. After that, you close the lid (sending your computer into sleep-mode) and let that baby charge for a full 8-hours.

After a solid night’s sleep for you and your laptop, update to the latest version of macOS and you should be good to go.

If this doesn’t magically fix the issue, contact Apple Support or do the ol’ turn-it-off-and-back-on again trick for the rest of eternity.
