Lil Yachty & Mates Did A ‘Fortnite’ Video Only Your Little Brother Will Get

Fortnite is, without a doubt, the biggest game in the world right now. From sheer player numbers to insane global marketing stunts, there’s just no slowing the momentum Epic Games has mustered with its battle royale title. Now, some more rappers have decided to incorporate the game into their work.

Far from a stranger to the rap world, Fortnite has crossed paths with Drake a few times and was even called out by Logic on the goddamn Ellen Degeneres show. But a new video/song featuring Murda Beatz, Lil Yachty, Ski Mask the Slump God and Yung Bans actually uses the game’s main theme as its base. Overall, it’s uh, not very good.

And look, I enjoy rap, but the song isn’t even about Fortnite, it just riffs on the same old tired shit that unimaginative rap seems leans on so much, like smoking weed and doing sex stuff. Murda Beatz is a Canadian beatmaker for some of the biggest rap artists around, creating the track by simply chucking a drum beat over the Fortnite theme.

You can suss out the video for yourself below.

I dunno, man, I don’t get it. But hey, that’s just me.

What does manage to continuously blow me away, though, is watching this game turn into a full-blown pop culture phenomenon in the space of roughly 6 months. It’s growth is absolutely wild and honestly, I can’t see it slowing down anytime soon.
