90s Brick Manufacturer Nokia Is Suing Apple Over 32 Precious Tech Patents

Ahh Nokia. The once cooler older brother of the mobile phone industry that failed to keep up with the changing of the times. While their batteries seemed to last weeks on a single charge, it wasn’t enough to keep the people coming back for those intense games of Snake

Yeaahh fire that shit up
But now the purveyors of the brick phones we all grew up with has scurried forth from the darkness to slap the current market leader, Apple, with a big fat lawsuit. According to Nokia, the iPhone makers have been playing silly buggers with their precious patents.
The company announced the lawsuit today which was filed in both US and German courts.
As a result of the acquisitions of NSN in 2013 and Alcatel-Lucent this year, Nokia actually own a shit-tonne of tech patents, many of which are used in Apple products. These include user interface, chipsets, video coding, antenna and software patents, 32 of which are stated in the claim.
“After several years of negotiations trying to reach agreement to cover Apple’s use of these patents, we are now taking action to defend our rights,” said Nokia’s Head of Business Patent in the statement.
They clearly haven’t been using Nokia’s battery patents though, AM I RIGHT!?
