Vogue Announces Tim Blanks As MBFWA Guest Reporter

Roll out the 1000 thread-count red carpets, brush up on your homework, and get your Sunday best to the dry cleaners: Tim Blanks is coming. For the uninitiated, Tim Blanks is to fashion what David Attenborough is to natural history, so it is with near-reverence that we announce his holiness of online fashion bible, Style.com, will be gracing Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia with his presence thanks to a savvy enlistment by Vogue Australia.

Mr Blanks, who’s reputation in the fashion writing and reporting sphere is nothing short of legendary, will be working on site in Sydney, covering MBFWA exclusively for vogue.com.au from April 30 to May 4. Today Vogue told us that – in addition to daily reporting about the collections – there will be backstage coverage, interviews and party pics.

New Zealand raised Blanks is not just a insanely perceptive fashion commentator who truly knows his shit, but he’s a fabulous writer in general: entertaining, accessible, funny and smart. The last time he was in town was for Fashion Week 2010 when, once again, Vogue had recruited him as a special guest contributor.

He joins a host of high profile international bloggers (and WHITNEY PORT from The City you guys!) who will be covering MBFWA this year – fantastic exposure for Australia’s impressive design talent.
