Described as †a sports fantasy’, Alexander Wang’s collection unveiled at his NY fashion week show took the obsession with gym and sports wear to dizzying heights of sophistication.
The 25-year-old wunderkind presented some sexy silhouettes in a colour palette rarely extending beyond sweat-pant grey, camel brown and the odd splash of red – flaunted by models sporting a nude make up look and messy side pony tails. The cuts were loose and relaxed, with strong rounded shoulders making a statement – all things that will prove commercially popular for Wang.
And naturally fashion shows aren’t just about the clothes, celeb attendees included Kim Gordon and Terry Richardson, and an after-party treated guests to a sugar overload on junk food and a performance from Courtney Love.
