Lady Gaga Just Announced Her Album ‘Joanne’ & This Is What We Know So Far

MAMA, YASS.
Stefani Germanotta AKA Lady Gaga has finally dropped the details of her upcoming album, and fans are flipping their bloody lids.
The singer-songwriter appeared via Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 show, where she announced a bunch of details about the album.
It’ll be titled ‘Joanne‘, which is one of her middle names, but she told Lowe that it’s named after her father’s late sister, who died at the age of 19 from chronic autoimmune disease Lupus
“She is the woman of my past, helping me bring more of my honest-woman self to the future.”
Her aunt’s handwriting will feature on the back of the album, and the packaging will feature tonnes of Germanotta fam momentos.
She’s already posted the simple, beautiful, tonal cover art to social media straight after the interview:
Thematically, she describes the album as a narrative following “an Italian American girl, a city girl, venturing out into new territory.”
The release will have 11 tracks, and 14 on the deluxe edition (although she told Lowe, “don’t quote me on that”).
Collaborations on the EP will include:
  • Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, who plays guitar on ‘John Wayne‘, “a song about [Gaga’s] incessant need to run after wild men”.
  • Father John Misty contributes to ‘Sinner’s Prayer‘, which Gaga described as “about singing to a man, telling him ‘Look, I don’t want to break the heart of any other man but you, but I know I’m a sinner.’”
After the first single ‘Perfect Illusion‘ dropped last week (and she confirmed the video is “coming out very soon”), Gaga is only making her Little Monsters wait a month for the rest – the album will be out October 21:
“The day the album comes out will be such a day of healing for me and my family, and my father.”
Listen to ‘Perfect Illusion‘ below and gee the fuck up – Gaga‘s back.
