Kanye’s Yeezy S5 Show Was “No Media Allowed” But Here’s A Few Sneaky Shots

Happy Yeezy Season 5 day, Ye stans!
Kanye West presented his Yeezy Season 5 collection at New York Fashion Week this morning, and we’ll be honest: he hasn’t made it easy for us media folk in the slightest.
Firstly – there was a strict no phones, no photos, and no social media ban at the show. So, there’s very few photos and videos of the actual show itself, and the people who have uploaded stuff were doing it on the sly, so the vids have a very ‘tops of guests heads with blurry models far in the distance‘ kinda vibe.
Secondly, Ye legitimately kicked all the credentialed press outta the theatre moments before the presentation was set to begin. So, trying to find a clear image of the show at all through legit sources is damn near impossible.
THAT BEING SAID: what we can see from the show is really, really, really fucking good.
We’re seeing mainly denim and heavy materials, and not-so-subtle inspiration from a globally diverse array of military uniforms. Straight lines, clean cuts; colour is bold and jewel tones, otherwise the collection relies on blacks and dark neutral shades.
Motifs read ‘Calabasas‘ – where Kanye and Kim Kardashian live in Los Angeles – and ‘Lost Hills‘, which is the text that was printed on his show invites this year (a sweater). Oh, and new Yeezy sneakers, o’ course.

The collection a far cry from the body suits and nude shades of previous shows, for real.
Here’s what we can see:

According to guests, there was ‘spa music’ playing before the show, which invited an atmosphere of relaxation and rest.
The track that played on repeat during the show was The-Dream‘s demo version of J. Holiday‘s ‘Bed’ (which Ye co-wrote). It had been rumoured that the Drake x Kanye collaboration music, or tracks from alleged new album ‘TURBO GRAFX 16′ would be debuted at Yeezy Season 5 (he debuted ‘The Life of Pablo’ at his Season 3 show last year), but we’re sad to report that there was no new Ye music debuted at the show.
The began with 360º projections on the curtains of the theatre, showing models dressed in outfits spinning around.

It’s being reported that models who walked in the runway presentation included Amina Blue, Playboi Carti, Luka Sabat, and more. Muslim model and Carine Roitfeld-favourite Halima Aden, who wears a hijab, also walked:

HYPEBEAST seemed to have the only livestream from the show, which ran for 13 minutes:
Kanye reportedly didn’t come out at the end of the show, but Kim Kardashian posted this photo (along with other pics of the show) to her Snapchat story post-show:

We will update this story as soon as we get our grubby mitts on clearer pix.
Thank god for Yeezy
