Havaianas have teamed up with Aussie swimwear legends We Are Handsome, so we’ve teamed up with them to tell you all about the collab you can shop HERE.
Prepare for an unholy frothfest, because ya’ two go-tos for summer – Havaianas and Aussie swimwear powerhouse We Are Handsome – have come together for a nice lil’ collaboration.
This collab is a really big deal for the Aussie swimwear brand, who y’might be familiar with thanks to their standout (and quite literally, wild) prints on bods since 2009. While the Brazillian footwear company has worked with big guns before like Missoni, Valentino and Charlotte Olympia – WAH is the first down under label to work with Havis on an international scale.
What does that mean, exactly? The collab will not only be sold here in Oz, but in the US, Brazil, Thailand and New Zealand as well. Not too shabby for a seven-year old-brainchild. Jeremy Somers (who heads up WAH with wifey Katinka) told PEDESTRIAN.TV:
“It’s a huge honour and we’re thrilled! It’s something that’s been on our
brand bucket list since day one, and something so few brands have
done worldwide. We’re really excited, and to be the first Aussies on a
global scale is massive!
“It’s a perfect fit. Our mantras and ethos are the same: Summer, every day, everywhere.“
We’re told Katinka & Jeremy were very hands on with the entire collab process, with both Havies and WAH going into each other’s HQ to get a feel for the vibes they each stand for. From concepts to colours and prints, both teams were adamant about making these different to anything else Havies has whipped out in the past 50 years.
The result? Two exclusive female styles (but like, whatevs I’ve been wearing “men’s” ones for years and gender is a spectrum and all that) – dubbed Dalliance and Xerxes – in tropical prints that stay true to the WAH aesthetic we’ve grown to love.
