I personally had an “Esprit Jeans” one, except all the letters were staggered so it looked like it said “Ejseparnist” and I would call it my Ejseparnist tee, bc I was an extremely odd child.
Anyway! Irrelevant Mel life story! Those tees were the fucking shit in primary school, all the cool kids had them and if Mum didn’t buy you one there was hell to pay.

It’s likely you haven’t set foot in an Esprit since you entered double digits in age, but yes – they were still in existence around the country and yes, people still shopped in them.
Sadly, not for much longer. The global fashion retailer is pulling out of Australia and New Zealand entirely, closing over 60 outlets and in extremely sad news, leaving 350 Aussies without jobs.
Esprit’s been in Oz since the 80’s, but made the announcement on Thursday that it had been unprofitable and had made the “unfortunate but unavoidable” decision to leave the market.
So no more logo tees unless you can score one o/s – or even better, from a vintage store.
