So yesterday a package arrives in my #marrickville office with a note from #innerwest #indie #rock band @bestpolishclub – with a #vinyl copy of #alrightalready recorded in #leichhardt – a damn fine #album it is – could have been delivered without the #sledge on my @rsdaustralia #ambassador duties but that’s ok – to reward this initiative I’ll give it a plug on @studio10au show tomorrow morning ??????
DJ Albo Called Polish Club’s Bluff On Live TV After An A+ Heckle
When we covered Anthony Albanese spinning tunes in support of Lee Lin Chin‘s Logie bid early last year, there was no way we could have known just how far his DJing dreams would take him.
DJ Albo has become such a household name, such a sterling champion of all things Music, that he has in fact been named an ambassador for this year’s Record Store Day.
Clearly keeping their finger on the pulse of all things Albo, Sydney band Polish Club immediately capitalised on the MP’s ambassadorship by sending him their most recent record, Alright Already, along with a goading note.
The good Deej responded in the best possible way: he plugged the album while fulfilling his duties as Official Parliamentary Disc Jockey / Record Store Day Ambassador / Deck-Spinner Extraordinaire on this morning’s ‘Studio 10‘.
There you go, kids: hassling your heroes really does catch you a break sometimes.
Record Store Day is tomorrow, April 22, and you can check out a list of cool shit to do and great stores to visit right here.
