It’s fitting that the 25th Anniversary of London Fashion Week should end with Burberry Prorsum’s triumphant return to the motherland. With a front row that included Emma Watson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mary-Kate Olsen, Victoria Beckham and Daisy Lowe – Christopher Bailey proved there are infinite ways to skin a cat, or cut a trench, with his fiercely modern take on Burberry’s hallmark garment.
The mostly camel colour palette was interjected with playful pastel hues while the trench or shall we say the trench was modernized with structured shoulders and form fitting cuts. Say goodbye to the aristocratic stuffiness of the old guard these coats were made for clubbing and that’s just what they’ll do.
