There is nothing quite so indulgent as someone else washing and styling your hair. The only downside is that it’s an expensive habit to get done on the regular, which is why this offer rules so much: Sydney-based brand Blow Bar Co is offering $5 wash and blow dries at all its stores next week, to celebrate it’s 5th birthday. Consider me signed up.
It’s all happening Wednesday 25 November, with the $5 wash and blow dries going from 10am till 3pm at all three Sydney stores: Bronte, Balmain and the recently opened Sydney CBD spot (inside David Jones).
“This month marks Blow Bar Co’s fifth birthday – and what better way to say celebrate this incredible ride than a sneaky $5 wash and blow for our community,” Blow Bar Co Founder & Director Leigh Dole said in a statement.
“With our first venue opening in Bronte in 2015, fast forward five years and we now have four venues, including David Jones Elizabeth Street, which opened just last month.
“2020 has been challenging for everyone and we’re excited to see what the next five years has in store as we continue to grow and expand across Sydney and beyond!”
A standard blow dry usually starts at $49 and increases for long hair, thick hair, extra massages or specialised styling (e.g. a side braid), so $5 is an absurdly good deal.
If you’ve never had the pampering of a Blow Bar Co experience, let me break it down for you.
First, the wash (obvs). My favourite bit. Having someone else massage shampoo into your scalp? Damn near orgasmic. I think if I was really rich I’d pay someone to do this once a week.
Next, the blow dry. You don’t have to garble through a request like “curls but not CURLS curls, like waves I guess, messy but neat IDK help”. You get a booklet and five main hairstyles to choose from: messy (but a chic messy, obvs), big (think Farrah Fawcett), sleek, curls, upstyle (e.g. a Blake Lively-style pony), flick, or waves.
What’s not to love?
All you have to do to nab one of these $5 bookings is head here and make one.
